Izena is a curatorial project and art advisory platform dedicated to supporting early-career artists and makers both locally and globally - particularly in London, Ibiza, and Mexico City.

Izena strives to nurture a diversity of creative practices, from handmade furniture, to hand-bound books, sculpture, and painting. Izena hosts several exhibitions at its Bethnal Green space in London throughout the year, collaborating with external curators and creatives. Izena also travels, curating exhibitions in Ibiza, Mexico City, and also for institutions such as The Conran Shop - always with a focus on emerging artists.

Stella Smith grew up in creative communities, both in London and Ibiza, and has made it her mission to support young creatives. After graduating from her Art History BA at UCL, Stella moved to Mexico City, working in numerous galleries and artist studios. It was here she embarked on her curatorial career with a group exhibition entitled Traducciones/Translations, investigating notions of psychogeography within the cityscape. This began Izena’s ongoing project series.

Stella has now opened Izena’s first space in Bethnal Green, London.
